It happens quite often that our reptiles swallow the substrate, which results in dangerous hooking of the animal.

Komodo has created a special substrate that is edible and fully digested by reptiles. The substrate is made of calcium carbonate, it is sterile, bacteria and mites do not develop on it. Nothing happens to the animal even if it eats a large amount of substrate. In this case, it is a signal that the reptile is deficient in calcium and supplementation and UVB lighting should be changed.

• and other reptiles from desert and semi-desert areas

The substrate reflects the natural environment, allows digging, laying eggs, reduces stress and enhances the natural behavior of animals. A 4kg package is enough for an area of approx. 60x60cm, the substrate should be temporarily cleaned by sifting with a spatula and replaced once a year.
